Our Story

Mountain Hair is a full service salon in Cortez, Colorado that has been in business since 2002. Sandra Rogers, owner of Mountain Hair, is a veteran of the beauty industry, with nearly 40 years’ experience.

Mountain Hair is proud to be staffed by three very qualified techs that are ready to assist you in transforming your outer beauty in a way that allows your inner beauty to shine for all the world to see.

Sandra Rogers

Sandra would not have remained in the business for this long if it weren’t for her love of making people feel Good! She still does shampoos and sets, acrylic nails, shellac, and pedicures. Sandra has learned a lot over the years, but keeps up on all the newest looks and techniques. She is a certified lash extension tech, and master stylist who is always willing to learn something new from her colleagues and educators. She frequently works late to accommodate the schedules of her working class clients, and always aims to please.

Tootie

Tootie (Claudia McNair) moved here from Telluride with her husband Jim. Tootie owned her own salon in Telluride and is a master hair stylist. She specializes in brow & eyelash tint, but cutting hair for men and women is a joy for her, too! Tootie knows hair coloring well and likes to see her clients undergo transformation in her beauty chair.

Valerie Workman

Valerie has worked at the salon for almost 15 years, and lives in Cortez with her husband, LJ Workman. Valerie loves hair color and is a star at hair cutting for both men and women.
